The Bulletman Suit

Any Simulation or Scenario training will require 3 things to make it functional. These 3 components that make the training possible are safe, dynamic and realistic. The first factor is safety by making sure that sufficient body armour and protective equipment is available, that will allow the student/s to practice their skills with a good degree of realistic contact.

There are specific fully padded suits on the market such as the Red man and the Fist suit, this kind of equipment is what the military and law enforcement groups tend to use and it is also commercially available.

However, no head guard design that will totally eliminate the brain shaking effect that direct impact to the head until the bulletman design and later employed originally by Model Mugging program for women by Peyton Quinn. This is basically a hugely padded American football helmet, the foam shell with a reinforced shoulder structure interlinks with the chest guard that fuses the whole thing together to eliminate all the brain shake and whiplash during strikes, the suit also has an extremely well padded groin that allows you to strike closer to full force without damage to the recipient.

The bulletman suit is the result of a 30 year evolution. The suit consists of the head (silver and bullet shaped, hence the name), chest guard and groin guard plus some other sundry bits and pieces. In mid-1980s, custom suits were under development by users interested in allowing essentially full contact to the head, body, and groin. Pioneers of these "pumpkin-head" or "bulletman" suits included Matt Thomas and Mark Morris of Model Mugging.

The second generation of bulletman suit called Predator Armour II provides more comfortable and better ventilation.
